    Hi magnetic,

Thanks for your research work on SCSI cards. I know, when I get my pegasos assembled I will be looking for a SCSI controller card, I have a SCSI JAZ drive 1GB cart drive with a lot of amiga stuff on it (500MB of OctaMED music and samples alone!).

For the Pegasos resellers, please consider trying to acquire some of these working cards to sell. :-D

    That's not a general case...
Problems encountered to get decent SCSI support are not linked to the chip but to different card design... so every card tested works with MOS without pb, exept 895 where there is a small problem to fix.. Concerning the firmware path, My 810 and one model of 875 is working correctly... So the fect you buy a 810 doesn't give you any guarantee of good functionning NOW.

    Hope this is clear.

I already tested a non working 810 card for info

Thanks for clearing this up. I heard all 810 cards worked... My card is a Symbios Logic brand PCI card and it works great so far. 825b chip

The LSI8750SP which is Symbios 875 does not, even though the HCL states it is. :-(
In fact the mobo will not even boot up with it in any of the PCI slots.

OK. SO I finally got my 825 based card in the mail. It has no 'BIOS' screen more typical of an adaptec card
    1. Is there usually any way to setup e.g. auto termination?
    2. It has an internal 68pin UW and external, is this a single 'through' bus?
    3. It also has a 50pin connector..is this likely on the same bus as the 68, or it's own channel?
    4. In MorphOS, should there be a device entry e.g. ncrscsi.device or somesuch?
    5. I ran PCIscan and it says detected parity error...no idea if this is good or bad to be honest.

I will try to hook up a scsi drive and some terminators this evening so I may have more news then but if anyone can give a few clues to the above...that'd be great

    Steve ;-)

I will answer as best I can but I dont know much about the card either... no docs and no time :p

    1. I think auto termination is enabled automatically

    2. I think the ext is terminated unless you plugh something in..

    3. I THINK its dual channel, not sure

    4. The device is symbios.device

    5. ???

When you hook up a device to the card the Scsi Config tool should recognize it and show the device (symbios.device)

Good luck. If you find out info.. post it up

FYI information, every information given here is without any value, if the firmware version is not given... lots of SCSI problems were fixed in firmware embedded with pegasos2... si give more informations :)
