Just got my Peg II up and running. Excuse the simple question, but is
there a way to use a USB printer in MorphOS? I don't see any devs:
for the usb ports so I can't specify one.

    Help appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Yes. there is.
Just go to the Printer settings and type in device field usbparalell.device
This device is generated when Poseidon detects a working usb printer.

If your printer isnt listed you may have to test a few others to see if it will work under them. I have a Brother BL-1440 and I use the HP laserjet 3 driver. Seems to work fine.

Thanks for the tip. I have a HP7660 Photosmart printer which doesn't
seem to work with any of the drivers listed.

Anyone out there have a 7660 or 7690 running under MorphOS?

Where exactly does this usbparallel.device get created? I see the
printer and it's memory card slot recognized in the USB preferences,
but no matter what printer I select from prefs, I get a lock up of the
program trying to print. Nothing is sent to it. Perhaps I'm using
    the wrong device?

    Thanks.

    Here's another printer related question:

As of March, 2004 the Epson Stylus C64 (nice name, eh :-) printer is
supported by Turboprint but that is long after the latest Pegasos MOS
edition. So, how do I go about getting support for this printer in
MOS? Do I have to pay Irseesoft for the privilege? I did buy
Turboprint 7 for my Amiga several years ago, if that helps.

as the HP7660 uses "HP PCL Level 3 Enhanced" ... try to search for that, and check the HP printers working for MorphOS if they might use "HP PCL Level 3 Enhanced" too ... try one of them ...

Don't know if it works, but it is my best guess

Just had a look at TurboPrint ... if these drivers are included with MorphOS, then you should try HP_PhotoSmart75xx or HP_DeskJet5550

Hope that you are going to make it work :-D
