Many Amiga users are known for their willingness to let everyone know what hardware / operating system they use. I believe it's much the same for many MorphOS / Pegasos users aswell.

I've seen pictures of many cool Pegasos cases, but mostly they're "self modified" (Which, of course, is a cool thing, but not everyone has enough know-how or free time to do that)

Would it be a good idea to have some "official" Pegasos case modifications, designed to make any case a "Pegasos case" ?

Things that could be cool, for example:

-plastic 5.25" and/or 3.5" frontplates with embedded "PEGASOS" text

(And if not frontplates, at least stickers that could fit there nicely...)

-Some stickers to cover cover those Windows buttons on keyboard :-)

-Maybe some would think, that "G3/G4 inside" stickers are cool? :-)

Of course, the more complex stuff should be left to people to do it themselves (such as painting butterfly on case side)

(But still, it wouldn't hurt having image gallery of high resolution masks for that purpose...)

And then there's stuff involving electronics (and in some unfortunate cases, smoke)... Well, might be best not taking any responsibilities on that kind of mods, but wouldn't hurt giving some "basic" tips somewhere...

(I, for example, have replaced my HD led with analog meter, that shows "average HD use")

Hi Jupp, we are working on this and want to come up with something standard for both the ODW and a special series of Pegasos machines. There have actually been many modifications done by individual users. We should probably begin to collect an album!

We will have something like this. :-D And, we will make sure that whatever it is, everyone who has a Pegasos can get one.

    :-)

More ideas are welcome on this thread!

    Just an another idea...

Would it be a good idea to have "official" Pegasos cases?

Of course, Pegasos boards could (and should) also be sold as "bare motherboards" (as they're sold now) but there could be "official" cases that could be used by resellers for building complete preinstalled Pegasos systems...

    Hi R&B

A customised case would really make the Pegasos
a matching k/b mouse with logo as well.

Something stylish, not biege and instantly identifiable would be the best.

I am partial to either black or silver cases, as matching components are easy enough to find for these.

http://pegasos.com.au/gallery/ <-shows what we are using atm. These cases are easy to work with.

I will have a few new models in next week.

I like the blue LED feel that i had going with the yeong yang A105 case and matching speakers.

There is a design flaw in the YY a105 tho, no reset switch and the doors break off too easily.
    http://yycase.com/

the A106 looks nice too. Tho they are a bit fiddly to work with.

It certainly has the look and feel tho.

more models to come as we get them.

I see boing is already selling the predecessor case, but what about the new Athenatech A106?
    http://www.systemcooling.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=1592
    http://www.3dgameman.com/vr/athenatech/a106_case/video.html
You see I favour microATX cases that offer space for normal sized AGP/PCI cards and space for long cards,
I'm not sure if a Voodoo5500 would fit very well in here: http://www.pegasos.com.au/gallery/systems1/peg2g4inside
Maybe if Genesi would order a number of AT A106, the window could be exchanged against one with MorphOS
butterfly logo instead of the "shock" tag.
Put a blue cold cathode inside and you have your Pegasos case. :)
It offers an additional 3.5" bay over the YY and an LCD for temperature, fan speeds, clock etc.
Maybe this could even be exchanged for a more versatile LCD for the mediabox/server/geek market
so it could show some more specific system infos.
It lacks a Firewireport at the front, maybe this could be changed, too - or an additional integrated IR
sensor so you can use it like a VCR (I possess a Radeon9800SE AIW which has a radio controlled remote...).
The two internal 3.5" bays could make possible a RAID setup and the external accessible hidden
3.5" makes a fine choice for cardreaders, MO-drive with high data security etc.

    Just an idea...

The cases proposed by Tarbos are fantastci, much better that the a105 (however also the Yeong Yang 106/206 are really nice). The problem is that all this small cases have only one 5.25 bay! Many people want in their computer a DVD-Rom drive and a CD-RW drive to copy CDs on the fly. Moreover Combo drives on pegasos seem still not perfectly supported.
In every case the idea of a nice 'official' case is really nice. Genesi think to that, you could take agreement with some society like YY or others and sell them with a special Pegasos logo/window. Me like distributor would be really happy to buy this cases from you and sell pegasos machines in 'official' cases!

Miky, the Music/Film/Games industry doesn't want you to
copy anymore, that's why now so many cases with just
a single 5 1/4" bay appear on the market. ;)

The Athenatech A106 case is realy cool case, with that Display it's an eyecatcher! But i need two 5.25 bays, and front Firewire would be a nice thing. Maybe this is my next case for my Peg2. :-)

I am working on a multi connector panel, providing firewire, Audio in/out and usb (optional an included usb-hub (maybe an integrated cardreader as kind of usb compund device also)). All to fit in a 3,5" bay. So every case with a free 3.5" bay can be enhanced with connectors

    > Another nice and slim microATX case (not tested) for Pegasos : Antec Minuet

    Runs fine with Pegasos, see:
    http://saku.amigafin.org/yhdistys/tapahtumat/rj/valokuvia.html

The AOpen H340H one doesn't seem too bad either if you are into slim cases - and cheep cheep cheep (but lacks FW connector again).

Yep.. My Pegasos 1 there.. I moved it to Antec Minuet cause it was used on Linux and Morphos demos, including that meeting with RJ Mical.
    http://ns2.iti.fi/~jkurki/pega-case/

Minuet is nice case, and Pegasos fit's in ok. Only anonying feature is the front panel audio.. those cables are a bit short, but it's due placememnt of plugs on Pegasos motherboard.. For some reason they are on most inaccessible coner of motherboard...

I am also using a Minuet case:

    http://nakajima-www.cs.titech.ac.jp/~david/hhhalbum/pegasos/index.html

I had to buy some cables to lengthen internal cables for the front panel audio connectors, since they are too short as you said. And I also bought another one for the USB, since they come in a block of two, and the pegasos 2 needs just one.

Now everything is working ok ;)

Some rather "personal" computer case ideas, I've thought of... Haven't tried any of those... Yet :-)

Transparent seems to be somewhat fashionable nowadays...

So, how about covering Pegasos with 2 layers of glass?

    And in-between?

    Well, basically 2 choices...

    1. Aquarium

    2. Sand & Ants ("Anthill Inside" :-) )

In Finland many shops sell only big ATX cases. Well, many PC's are ATX, and one of most common replies when asking for MicroATX is "Your PC would overheat in such a small case" :-)

Transparent case would be very good idea! The Case could be like the Pegasos 'cube' just like in this picture:
