A gray screen normaly means that it tries to boot MacOS.
Blackscreen means: doing nothing....
This behaviour is absolutly not normal. Do you have a seperate boot-partition (hfs) for boot.img ? I hope it's noot marked as bootable....
Peg2, 3xPowerMac G5, 2xPowerbookG4, 2x MacMiniG4, Efika (again), A3000T and life is never boring.....
