As Kronos said, these cables (U.FL female plug) expect you to have an A1127 Airport/Bluetooth combo installed onto a Runway card in your G5. A1127 is easy to get, but Runway is a rarity and it's priced accordingly.
Hence the suggestion to use a vanilla A1027 AirPort inside this proprietary miniPCI slot of yours and it is guaranteed to work too. But it needs an antenna. You could try finding an adapter with MCX male (plugged into A1027) and U.FL male on the other side (to plug your antenna cable) or use a different antenna/cable (MCX to whatever, just get it out of the "Faraday cage" of your Mac's aluminium casing).
