Just got Morphos running on the PM. Every time I reboot the Mac I have to switch the SATA port.

This is crazy anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like misconfigured OpenFirmware env variables to me.

Should I just reset the firmware? Or should I just look into the variables?

I did a bit of searching and didn't find a good resource for the firmware, do you recommend a source for it?

Reset nvram and reset all and that seemed to fix the problem for a few reboots.

Now it is back to the same routine.

Hmm, I remember having a similar problem with an SSD seemingly not being fully compatible to old G5 SATA-1 controller. A Samsung SSD Pro/Evo (?), don't remember which exact model it was. On the MorphOS side swapping around seemed to work for some time, on Linux I got SATA bus errors and r/w errors after some time... After I switched to some Sandisk SSD Plus (series recommended here in the forum several times) this problem disappeared completely.

Does Morphos support any modern 3rd party SATA controller supporting modern speeds?

I've just fitted a OWC Mercury Electra 3G in my G5 PCIe and its working perfectly under MorphOS.

I bought a OWC Mercury EXTREME Pro 6G.

I think that might be your issue as OWC seem to recommend using a 3G on a Power Mac G5.
