Hi everyone. I have a spare powermac 9,1 sporting linux in my shelf and wan't to ask if it is possible to boot MOS on this machine. The Latest changes made it possible to run MOS on 12,1 G5s. Ok unofficial. Hardwarewise the 9,1 is something like a hybrid of the imac g5. Which is also unoffical supported. So what stops MOS from booting on an 9,1?

    Regards
    Daniel

Imac G5 on which 9.1 mobo is created is not supported by Morphos so this powermac is also not supported by morphos. You can use 7.3, 7.3 and 11.2. It is wide range of hardware.

Ah ok so the pics of the geit meetings are showing a pure developer version. That's fine. Maybe I will find another G5 at work xD

As zukow explained, the 9,1 PowerMac G5 from October 2004 is not based on the MorphOS-compatible 12,1 iMac G5 from October 2005 but on some older, MorphOS-incompatible iMac G5, most likely 8,1 from August 2004.

These pics show 12,1 iMac G5 which MorphOS 3.12 can run on.
