    Hi everyone.
Last weekend my second MOS-maschine arrived. It is a Mac Mini 1.42ghz 1Gig of Ram.

The Installation was succesfull but now I get some strange issues.

Right now I'm building a new Skin for Ambient. But when I enable Enhanced Display the GFX-Rendering gets corrupted.

My resolution is 1680x1050 at 24bit.

At a resolution of 1440 everything is fine. Am I running out of GFX-mem? I only have 32Mb but the screenbar tells me that only 16.7Mbytes are in use.

Is someone else running a config like this?

    Regards
    Daniel

I'm sure you're running out of VRAM. The computer starts to swap data between RAM and VRAM and hence the screen corruption and overall slowdowns.

Ok but I've seen a lot of screenshots showing Mac mini running at FULLHD and a lot of eyecandy enabled. Also my old and rusty Quicksilver was able too handle FULLHD using a radeon 7000 with 32mb of VRAM.

Okay this System was running under 2.7 till 2.9 until the mainboard died.

Maybe i should try to replace the driver with the latest from the 2.x releases.

Maybe from 64 MiB VRAM models?

I'm using my 64MB mini on FullHD display quite nicely (Ambient on enhanced mode, other screens not), but 32MB mini isn't really that suitable for it.

If you want to use enhanced display, you can reduce graphics memory usage by changing DisplayEngine settings in MorphOS preferences. Don't allow double or triple buffering (remove checkmarks on them) and you get a single buffered mode, which still contains all the eyecandy, but consumes much less memory. Although you might see little tearing when moving things. You'll need to reboot or switch some screens when switching those settings.

Another option is to use a 16bit screenmode. Play around which combination will be best for your usage (single buffering or 16bit or both).

I've got it. I reduced the colordepth and everything wents right. I've resampled my wallpapers. This way they look very nice under 16bit screendepth.

    Thanks for helping.
