I have a powerbook g4 that I am trying to add an SSD to. Here is what is happening. When I try to boot from CD with the SSD installed. It will not boot from the CD. I get the folder with the flashing question mark.

If I put the old HD in, the one with MorphOS currently installed. I can then boot from CD also.

    Help

From what i know there may be several possible issues:

    1) your model has master/slave swapped. So when you apply the SSD, which is master, you run into problems. Check if you can change the adapter to slave,

    2) Someone messed with the cabling. Wrong wires cause these kind of problems, even if they look right. Other people ran into issues when using spareparts, where the flat plastic wires looked fine and identically. But they arenĀ“t.

    3) The CDrom does not like the SSD at all. In the past this happend alot, but who knows.

I would simply install the drive using some other MorphOS device and remove the CDROM. Its most useless anyway. Maybe get some adapter kit and place a second drive instead of the cdrom.
