Is the internal IDE, or an external USB connected DVD/CD drive able to read MACINTOSH formatted CDs under MorphOS?

I'd like to be able to read some of the data off the discs without having to reboot into Mac OSX each time I want to extract some of the data files off a CD.

Macs format a CD in a standard format. You can read a CD made on a Mac just fine in MorphOS.

Actually, that's why I'm asking the question as my internal Mac Mini DVD-RW/CD-RW drive isn't mounting the CD to access the data from a standard install, with Chrysalis CD installed as well.

I just wondered if there is some HFS, or other Mac hybrid filesystem, part of the Mac format that the MorphOS filesystem isn't seeing to be able to mount it as it would a PC or Amiga formatted CD/DVD?

"Most operating systems support reading of ISO 9660 formatted discs, and most new versions support the extensions such as Rock Ridge and Joliet. Operating systems that do not support the extensions usually show the basic (non-extended) features of a plain ISO 9660 disc."

Yes I agree ISO 9660 CDs can be read, but Mac systems often use a hybrid system that utilises the HFS filesystem, which the Classic Amiga, usually WB3>= through it's device options/prefs/tooltypes/variables for CDs had options to read the HFS sections of a Mac system.

I cannot be sure if that was part of CacheCDFS or some other variant of the CD filetype/devices, but I haven't seen any options so that I can enable it using MorphOS, unless I'm looking in the wrong place?

I'm a Mac user and use disk utility to burn CDs all the time. I have no issues with reading them in MorphOS on any of the systems I use. I have several Macs and MorphOS machines as well. I also read the CDs just fine on AmigaOS.

Try burning at 4X speed.

I downloaded CDVDFS but it got to line 633 and line 683 and then error'd and failed to complete the installation, something to do with 'protect'ing a file that it couldn't and so the installation failed.
