Hello, I was running MorphOS on my G4 Mac Mini. Had some sort
of boot image problem and the Mac would no longer recognize the installation.
Had to go back and reload OSX. Now the install disk I used before
is no longer recognized by my Mac when I start the machine with the
"C'key pressed. I do have the HFS partition set correctly, but
no go. Can anyone suggest a fix?
    Thanks

Try booting into boot screen instead and see if you can boot from CD there.

Yeah, booting with Alt key pressed to get into boot menu is the first thing to try to get CD booted, and if neither C or Alt won't work, try connecting keyboard directly to the mini and don't use any hubs.

About the boot image problem... one guess which it might be. If you have modified/copied the bootinfo.txt file in the Boot: partition (HFS), the machine won't recognize it until you run "HFSSetMacBoot Boot:bootinfo.txt" command in MorphOS's shell. You can do that by booting the MorphOS installation CD and no OSX required when fixing that. Usually if you want to update MorphOS boot files manually, it's enough just to copy the correct boot.img file to the Boot: partition. No need to touch the other files. There are few different boot.img files for different architectures and for Mac mini the correct one would be in the mac_ppc32 directory on the MorphOS CD.

Thanks for the info about the boot.img. That sounds like the
    issue for me.

However neither holding the 'C' key or the 'alt' key gets
me anywhere. With the 'alt' key the only bootable image
    is the hard drive.

Can someone tell me how to go into the boot rom and give the
command to tell the machine to boot from the dvd drive?

Or is there any other way to boot it, like from online?

    Thanks

In the menu with Alt key, the CD should appear there after a while.. do you hear any sound from the DVD drive that it would be recognizing it? Maybe you should try to burn CD again? Or try different media (CD vs DVD), sometimes old drives stop reading CDs but keep reading DVDs still, for example.

I don't think it helps to try to boot the CD from OF prompt... unless your machine is so messed that resetting NVRAM or something like that would help. But you should rather try to boot MorphOS from the USB first, you just need MorphOS ISO image and the correct boot.img on a FAT formatted USB stick and check this guide to find the correct line to enter in OF prompt: http://www.morphos.de/guide/usb-boot

Hey guys just wanted you to know that I took your advise and created a new
install dvd and that did the trick. I now have my MorphOS installed and
    writing you al from there.

    @Punkyclown

Glad it worked out :-) I also use a Mac Mini as my main MorphOS system and I love it :-D
