G5 wireless problems.

My AirPort Extreme card on my G5 will connect.

However there are a few issues.

I set up the DNS servers to connect to OpenDNS as it would not connect using any other configuration but the problem is that after about a minute. The connection seems to just stop working although the card claims to be connected to the network.

Is there any way to check this and any way to make sure it stays working?

Getting frustrated as I seem to get one step forward then five steps back...

Seems to me that a few MorphOS users have reported wireless connection problems on different computers, but the majority of users seem to have no wireless connection problems. Perhaps it would be helpful to the MorphOS Dev. Team if we had just one thread here on MorphZone.org where users could report their wireless connection problems and the specifications of their systems? A short description of the exact behavior and what each user has done trying to fix the connection problem might also be helpful.

Such a thread might also be useful to users who are having wireless connection problems, if other users also report the specifications of their computers which have wireless Internet connections that are working well.

Such a thread perhaps could be made "Sticky", to remain always visible on the front page of most recent forum threads.

I have never used the Airport cards that have come with any of my Macs.
I have had better luck with the earlier drivers for third party cards.
And I still use a hardwired connection to my router when it can be made.
That still provides the best bandwidth.

Also I have a really unusual Netgear WNCE2001 Universal Wifi adapter on my iBook (a solution David suggested - thanks again Dave). That thing will connect virtually anything to my router.

    What's unusual about it?

Its not limited to use with computers. Anything that has a wired network connection can be linked with this, without drivers. That, to me, is unusual.
It was, and for that matter is, a good solution for the iBook.

Okay, I find that quite usual. A wired network connection that requires a driver would be unusual to me. Prior to MorphOS supporting AirPort Extreme, I was using the tiny yet really usual TP-Link TL-WR702N for that purpose ;-)

Neat device. I did not have much luck with these type of connections until I bought the Net gear box.
I tried two other solutions before that. So you and David were one step ahead of me.
    Not that UNUSUAL either.
