I think it's mostly about getting some up to date hardware that is easy to port to. This will give the Team a way to port more modern hardware which they can use for the system jump.

Also, I bet it must feel nice to be able to remove the last valid critizism against MorphOS: no new hardware. Sure, it happened already with the SAM 460 port but the more the merrier
