I purchased me another powerbook as my other one begins to have graphical problems.(lines across the screen).
New one is a 5,4 model powerbook old a 5,8.
The 5,4 powerbook had a keyboard problem and a non working right mouse click.(double tapping).
The keyboard is ok now after I reinstalled the cable,only the 3 finger reset is a no go?
Can I exchange the touchpad module with the 5,8 model powerbook?
Is it normal to not have the reset in the keyboard on this model?

They are using different types of keyboard and touchpad connections, you can't do much for it.

Keyboard and touchpad are connected with ADB on 5,4 and with USB on 5,8. ADB ones don't support touchpad gestures/settings and normal ctrl-command-command reset doesn't work because ADB doesn't make difference between left and right (command) keys. There's workaround reset with Fn-LAlt-Enter key combination on ADB machines since MorphOS 3.6 and at least ShiftClick commodity can be used for right mouse button.

Powerbooks 5,6 - 5,9 and IBook 6,7 do have USB kb/touchpad, so they do work a bit better in this regard.

Ok thanks for your explanation,this is good news for me as my touchpad is not broken then.
A bit strange at first as I am used to the right mouse click with the tapping method.
Now off to test some more and try to get that moskey from one machine to the other.
