    Hello All,

I have a router which doesn't provide enough signalstrength to get a good wifi signal on the attic, yard etc.
So I purchased me a enginius ecb300 which I connected onto the router with a network cable.
The idea was to get a second network (SSID) with dhcp handling.
The original router also uses dhcp handling.
This works but speed is not good if I use the enginius network, also connection loss...
Should I setup the enginius network with static ip?
Signalstrength of the eginius is very good, much stronger then original router.

I took this route as I found out the repeaters commonly used loose speed and as I don't have a very speedy internet connection.

    Hoping for some advice?

You could try limiting the Enginius to operate in wireless G mode rather than B/G/N, might be trying to negotiate a faster line speed or something.

What do you mean by 'connection loss': Losing network connection, or just delayed page loading?
If losing connection, is it constant reconnection/dropping of the network every few seconds, or losing network connection every few minutes, or just losing connection occasionally (eg a couple of times an hour)?
By 'speed is not good' do you mean a constant but slow transfer speed, or do you have connections which take a long time to get going (look at the connection lamps at the bottom right of Odyssey) whilst a page is loading?

Repeaters halve the _maximum_ speed. But if internet connection is way below your network speed (it probably is) then this halving of max speed does not matter. I have a repeater and internet speed is as good as nearby the router without the repeater.

With the enginius connection I have lot's off red lights with owb.
Also connection is ok for say 10 minutes then connection is gone and I have to do a reboot the get a new connection.
With slow I mean slow loading off pages, downloads etc..

I'll try the G way If I can figure out how to set the enginius up.

Maybe I am beter off with a repeater but I must say the enginius puts out a very strong signal, don't like to let it go.

Would it not be simpler to just buy a better router?

I did try to change the router.
As I have no experience in these ip equipment I figured i'm better off in a real shop.
I asked the salesman for advice.
He advised me to not buy a router as the settings off the original router are set by my provider and not easy to setup yourself.
He also told me only companies buy a router and do the settings themself.
    I am on adsl.
This is why I went the enginius way..
