Still no specifics unfortunately, but at least a semi-official confirmation (by
minator) of April2 not fixing all the bugs:

April partly fixed the problems. April 2 fixed some more. April 3 would have fixed even more but it was so expensive it was abandoned. (I worked for Thendic/Genesi back then)."
