Manufacturer is not entirely safe to go by. There have been different models from the same manufacturer where one model has been reportedly working but another has not (which may or may not have been a case of bay A vs. bay B, who knows). If you search for the relevant terms (G5, SSD, SATA), you can find many threads here on MorphZone with reports of working model names/numbers.

Generally, SATA3 SSD with G5 Mac's SATA1 controller is a gamble, but there have been specific SATA3 SSDs put to work successfully. SATA2 is an effectively safe bet.

I use the OWC Extreme SSD, sure you won't see the performance of it on SATA II but I wanted to get the fastest I could get. Picked one up cheap and worked perfect for years.

It needs only to be a 128GB drive or so.

There's a thread with people reporting working drives.

Interesting ... I did a look in the "A" slot from my G5 (7,3) and see
in there a Samsung EVO 850 with 120 GB (which should be a SATA III drive?!).

I remember that sometimes when starting the computer the "folder" sign appeared
(no disk found ?!) and I needed to restart. Then it worked.

The Samsung EVO 850 is confirmed to be working.
In my case it runs as described in slot "A"

So was there a SATA I or II version of this ssd drive, which should only work
    in slot "A" ?

Maybe this ssd is somehow downwards compatible to the SATA I controller in there
    and thats the reason ?

    Yes, it is.

The Samsung 850 EVO never came as SATA1/2. And as far as I understand, the "phenomenon" with the G5 is such way that the drive either works on both ports or just on port B, but never just on port A.

Yes, apparently. As I wrote in comment #42, there are SATA3 drives that do work on SATA1 ports.

is there a way to check if MorphOS has found the Netcard/driver ? PCIscan or ?

I have inserted the NIC RTL8111 card.

but don't get an connection/ip to my network/internet

    in network i can see : rtl8168_eth.device:0

i have also tried static IP, if dhcp is'n supported.. no luck

If network prefs can see it, it should be working.
You could try ping to your router (in Shell) but my experience is that "no connection to internet" can often be solved either by a reboot (after saving your settings) or simply changing the entries in DNS server and hitting "Use" (which I guess kinda restart the network stack.).
