And on another note: for some reason Birdieshoot refuse to start.

Check if there is a screenmode defined under system prefs/monitors (resolution and depth) as required by the game.

I can't get Return to Castle Wolfenstein to work, on my G5 stock Radeon 9600P, it gets to that bit with the generals talking in the room, then a black screen with the wolfenstein logo in the bottom right, and thats it, goes no further, problem with mine? Or the 3D Drivers in general?

I had the same problem first time I ran RCW. So, I reset the PowerMac G5 and next time I ran It, all was fine.

I played it on PowerBook without any problem.

Quake III freeze on PowerMac G5 after few minutes playing it. Dont freezes on PowerBook.

I produced the Quake III test on 3 PowerMac G5 with genuine Radeon 9600P and 9600X and Quake III freezes on same conditions ( after less than 10 minutes of game)

I think there's an issue managing 3D on PowerMac G5 and this issue seems to not depend on R300 driver but maybe on AGP port management.

I'm not really sure where to check what resolution Birdieshoot needs, but the gfx card can work on down to 640 x 480 @ 76 MHz, so it should work I think.

I have other problems: Youtube doesn't work well. A lot of movies doesn't start (yes, I have compared to the ones that work on my Powerbook) and EZDownload doesn't work at all (doesn't show up). I installed the latest Crysalis and used grub for updates as late as today. Can anyone confirm this?

Do you mean it works on your powerbook but not on your G5 machine? If so, it's certainly not due to the G5. You probably just forgot to add userscripts in OWB scripts manager.

Currently all Youtube videos start (be it in HTML5 mode or using Youtube.js fallback for videos not available in HTML5 mode yet), and EzDownload works just fine as well, all this on 604, 5200, G3, G4, or G5... :)

Well, Crysalis worked out of the box on both my Powerbook and Mini. And the latest scripts are in their right folder. Plus that Youtube does work sometime (but not EZDownload). What should I look for then?

Check in Odyssey menu -> windows -> scripts... and see if you have any entries there. If you don't you should add them (as mentioned in the readme in the youtube section).

And i don't know how Crysalis is configured, but i can assure you youtube is working fine. :)

I take your word for it and I'll check when I get home.

OWB is a great browser so great work to you (although I miss cache function)!

I decided to remove the 9800XT from my G5 system and replace it with a 9600XT that I had in a spare G5. So far, I haven't had any of the issues that I had experienced with the 9800XT card installed, i.e. choppy mouse movements, slow for Ambient to appear etc...

I do the same because of analogous problem on my G5, - I also decided to remove 9800XT and replace it with native 9600XT mac card. But nevertheless, G5 hangs sometime (2 times from 10) with white screen when booting from the open firmware. Also had a problem with the network - 50/50 just after loading - no network packets, router port does'nt blink, i tryed to change the port but it led to nothing, so i rebooted the router, rebooted G5, and only after it network becomes active.

    sat0ri,

Since I have removed the 9800XT from my system, I have encounter no problems since. I find your issue interesting.

What are the specs of you particular G5?
Does everything work okay in OSX?

PowerMac7,3 A1047, 2.0 Ghz. All works fine in OSX.
P.S. Situation with network packets has been clarified - it happens when i try to download hugi37.lha 57 mb archive from morphos-files.net:

    http://morphos-files.net/download/HUGI_37
Seems what tcp/ip stack died because of huge downloading file. After a couple minutes I see OWB Error window with the message: Error 7: Could'nt connect to server.

I need to get my PowerMac Dual G5 fixed so I can try MorphOS on it. I gave the iBook to the sister-in-law. Time to get that back.
