    Well, there's always the not-recommended way... The Dark One... Quicker, easier, more seductive... Could blow your machine up instaneously...

    1. replace boot.img on your boot partition with the one from ISO (the correct one for your machine!)
    2. reboot old MorphOS with new kernel
    3. mount ISO and run update

    Mind you - this might go wrong if older MorphOS version won't for some reason work well with newer kernel. You have been warned!




    I used that simplified way for two of my four machines I updated and it worked flawlessly. That is really quick. And of course nasty ;-)
    The other two computers were updated by booting the iso off the hdd following this routine: https://via.bckrs.de/MorphOS/morphos_update.html (German)

    Only my Peg1 stays 1.4.5 (and stored stbthe attic…).

    Just a question:
    When I am using the qick way, do have to copy and
    boot the boot.img? Why not just mount the iso,
    do the installation and a reboot?
