How to boot MorphOS on Mac Mini?

    Hi there,

I just got a Mac Mini G4 (1,5GHz, 512MB RAM, 64MB VRAM) and wanted to test MorphOS. So I downloaded the ISO from the official Website and burned a CD. First try with Toast 11 (on my C2D-Mac Mini using OSX 10.7.x). Second try with Windows 7 (built-in image-burning tool).

Both CDs don't seem to work on the G4 Mini. It refuses to boot and ejects them after some seconds, though I hold the C key. If I insert the CDs when OSX (10.4.x) is started, it tells me that it's empty...??? WTF?

Anything that could have went wrong? The DVD-Drive in the Mini seems to work as it reads other CDs and DVDs without problems.

    I can't wait to test MorphOS.... :-x

    Any help?

    didn't work :-(

    - I downloaded the image again just to be sure.
    - I used another brand of writable CD
    - I used another writer
    - I used ImgBurn

After I tried some older burnt CDs (to check if they are even recognized) without success (they all seem to be empty) and after I successfully tried the MorphOS-CD on my C2D-Mac-Mini I am quiet sure that the G4-Mini has some problems with the DVD-drive... :-x

Do you think this can be repaired? Otherwise I would have to return the computer.

The drive is relatively easy to replace on your own. You can also boot MorphOS from a USB drive.

Thanks, but I don't want to pay for a "new" drive, because he sold the Mac Mini stating it was fully working. I'll have to contact the seller. Dammit! :-x
