    Hi,
    We succesfully tested a PCI USB 2.0 card on the Pegasos2 last night. We installed OpenPCI1.2 as well as ArakAttack and it worked with USB Key, a cherry USB Boing keyboard and mice. Actual 2.0 devices will follow to test...

    Cheers,
    Ron

    But naturally you're useing it at 1.1 speed? You're useing it not at 2.0 full speed. Isn'it?
    I'm speaking UCHI support..

    According to the VIA web site, the usb controllers on the VT8235 southbridge are 2.0 capable.

    Have a look at http://www.via.com.tw/en/apollo/VT8235.jsp

    @nels664868

    And what does that have to do with the price of tea in China. The 8235 (as all VIA southbridges since the 8231) uses a custom control bus that you only find on VIA northbridges, meaning you can't use them on any system *other* then one running the VIA northbridge.

    Sorry about that.
    My thinking was why install a usb2.0 pci card when there is a usb2.0 controller on the mobo.

    Hey Palpatine, this is really great news!

    @ milky060

    If a high speed USB 2.0 host controller is configured it is always capable of high speed transfers. O.k. one has to look to the initialization output to make sure the host controller did not deny the fast transfers, but normally it should work once it is configured.

    So internally even the full speed transfers are
    internally handeled as high speed transfers. The transfer from the host controller to the root hub is always in high speed mode, only the hub provides the full or low speed frames to the attached devices.
