    I am in need for a live cd of some linux distro or a free mac os bootable cd.Or mos3.0
    This to test my powerbook.
    There is macos installed now but it hangs on passwordkey and old owner lost this.
    Or is there a safe mode on which it boots further then this?
    Powerbook 5,4 1.5GHz 1.5GB ram

    If you've got a copy of the MacOS X DVD you can reset the password.

    As far as I know the Debain PPC CD is for install only. Have not tried Ubuntu.

    What use could have a ubuntu boot disk in order to reset the password on osx?. Or is for installation over the existing system?.

    I don't think this is what he wants to do with the Linux CD.

    He specified the purpose in the thread opening posting: "This to test my powerbook."
