Didn't see a software support group so I'll try this first. I'm very new to MorphOS so this could be a missing feature or a quirk with the Mac Mini support.

Anyway, I created a user via the MorphOS Preferences -> Users panel and yet it still autologons whatever built in account gets created by default.

I can live with a broken volume meter but system security is very important to me. I already know about the passwd program but even the author says it's a joke (for security)

    Any thoughts would be appreciated!

MorphOS doesn't have multiuser support, and IMHO it will not have it in a near (not even in a far) future.

That user you have created, is only valid for the network library abstraction layer, so linux software ports can sit their ass confortably in MorphOS, but is not real multiuser support.

If you really need multiuser support, you should look somewhere else. If you only need file security, you can encrypt your HDD's data with the utility suplied with MorphOS. If you need an access password to your desktop, those "joke" applications should work nicely, as far as a "hacker" can access the hardware (fisically).

Thanks for the informative reply. I wasn't looking for multi-user per-se but at least a secure login for the local account. Now I have to consider if just a Truecrypt container for personal data is enough. I'll have to inspect the provided Truecrypt port and see if whole disk encryption is available too..

If the developers are looking they should consider whole disk encryption or at least an encypted home folder with a passworded login for the local user. Security through an obscure operating system coupled with actual security! I'd pay $206 some dollars for that.

The idea of "moving along" if MorphOS doesn't have a specific feature doesn't expand its user base. It doesn't encourage developers if we just walk away when a critical feature is needed. Think about that before telling a potential new MorphOS user to look elsewhere for functionality.

Yes sir, I'm on my duty. I have not fed my lcd for two weeks, and it fits now in my hand luggage. My Tente-cased Efika fits too... everything else including clothes are optional things...
