    Hello,

I have a iiyama 19" CRT monitor which is getting picked up correctly by Morphos.

However this old monitor monitor is struggling to hit the 124Hz refresh rate so i want to edit the 1280x960 screenmode to have a lower Hz value.

In Morphos preferences I cannot seem to edit the name of the screeenmode 24bit 1280x960 to save my newly edited reduced clock rate. Clicking on the name does not allow the cursor to go into the box to rename it so I can save the new mode.

So how can i create a new screenmode with a different name?

    thanks for your time

    Martin N

You can use the original 1280x960/24 screenmode and reduce Hz (no changeing of name possible), test it and save it.
Or you make a copy of the mode and reduce Hz - but in this case you have also to change resolution - otherwise it's the same mode for MOS and will not be saved......let's say you create 1280x958 - that's enough.....

Or you make a complete new monitor-definition for your iiyama with proper modes (MOS should recognise the monitor and calculate screenmodes automatically - if you connect the monitor with the blue cable to the graficcards VGA-port)......

I cannot reduce the Hz frequency manually only the pixel clock can be changed.

This makes it difficult as i have to touch my mouse to the right to increase the pixel clock and watch the Vertical Hz jump up and down from 84Hz to 124Hz.

It is a difficult way to do things :(

Yeah, thats right - you can only change pixel-clock...but I can step in 0,005Hz useing the mousewheel...!!

Nah, not really. First off all you don't have to be in a preview mode to edit it. Moreover, besides pixel clock you can adjust timing for the horizontal/vertical range. IFF ModeEdit preference file can be found in SYS:Prefs/Presets/Monitors/ (Yes, you can backup it if needed). Personally i think that ModeEdit in MorphOS is close to perfection ;).
