Something weird is happening.

After installing an additional HD, partitioning & rebooting, the Peg
now takes much longer to boot and Installer no longer works.

I'm pretty sure I haven't changed anything else.

Any clues what happened?

do u have morphos installed on both hard drives? the boot process may be trying to load from 2 sources. that happend to me with linux

No. Apart from being partitioned it's empty.

Have you tried another IDE channel?

I haven't, no.

It's not something I would have thought of - why would that make a
difference to Installer working?

I wonder that too. But you never know...

Is your 2nd drive old btw?

did u make sure they are not both designated as master?
