True, it's 5 by 4, and true, you are nitpicking :-) Anyway, it's a pleasure having a member of the MorphOS Team posting here regurarly.

I've discovered, admitting quite late, CherryPal owners forum. There's not much, but people seem to be happy with its performance, albeit some quirks exist.
Also, there's people over there that I recall from MorphZone and PowerDeveloper, such as James "muriani" Baker, from DirecTron.

It seems like there are lots of folks here who want to plug the little Cherrypal into a great big monitor. I'd almost have to ask why? I mean, it seems like it's meant for very portable use, like on the bus to/from work, or outside, or whatever. I think I'd rather take the stuff off it that I made in the day, and finish/edit/whatever it home, on the fast computer at night. It's really cool that it can be plugged into a monitor, but that almost seems like something you'd do in an emergency-that its own monitor would be the preferred solution. I don't think it is fair to denigrate this device because it can't drive a 1440x900 monitor natively-that's not what it's for!

I'd much rather use this than an iPhone for mobile applications, because the screen is a little bigger and it has a real keyboard. My hands are just too big to get into the tiny keys on the new phones which have them for texting. And I have no love whatsoever for the soft keyboard concept. Touch screens have their limits!

If this little guy could be made to run MorphOS, I'd buy it tomorrow. I might buy one anyway, to use for mobile computing just because it's all you really need.

Probably because that's what they have on their desks.

Are you really talking about the CherryPal C114?

    > It's really cool that it can be plugged into a monitor

    I'd call that mandatory.

It has none, it's a nettop.

Of course it has, if you plug in one, that is ;-)

    > I might buy one anyway, to use for mobile computing

I'd really like to have a picture of that ;-)

Me too. I thought that one of the merits we amigans (ahem) had, was the ability to accept limitations from our computers.

My work computer runs at 1024 x 768.

Well, I guess it could be possible: Have a CherryPal C114 inside your backpak, powered by batteries. Then, use something like what the Palm Foleo was going to be: A portable dumb terminal, connected to the main computer through bluetooth, for example.

    Advantages? None, I guess...

That's completely unnaceptable. The current operating system in the CherryPal is totally unadequate!

1.5 GHz version here. 1 GiB RAM.

    48 seconds here (MacOS X 10.5.6).

    > MacMini launch Firefox3: 16 seconds.

    7 seconds here (Firefox 3.0.5).
