ok I apologize if I mis led anyone about burning on efika, but
I tried writing to a disk, and as soon as a blank media
is inserted, it seems to freeze or boggs down, then
nothing happens, plus you cant shut down any apps
or even close out the fryingpan/makecd (in this case)
it playes cd's accesses files, but blanks create issues
i have an hp usb dvd630e tried every hub port plugged in
after boot or it wont boot. nothing special about the
cd tried 2 types maxwell and philips.

is this an update issue, i haven't heard anyone else with
    this problem.

Also make cd lock up the system when trying to
access the drive to write to in pref
fryingpan finds it, but can't initate write, due to access hanging

    Hi,

My two cents : try another dvd burner hardware.

AFAIK, most managed to burn with efika + external USB CD/DVD burner. Slow as hell due to USB1 speed bottleneck.

Sadly, the efika is really missing USB2 ports. Expending the little beast is quite difficult with limited usb1 speed.

Maybe there is some pin left on the cpu to add some kind of device like A1200 port clock one ?

    Czk.

yea I'm not spending anymore on efika til all the quarks are worked out. I may try a rewritable to se if that makes a difference though. the port you referred to is there, but is not recommended to be connected due to some distance to voltage issue or something. I just took it for granted that it would mount up and go...
