    Hello,

I'm a relatively new Pegasos2 owner. The machine I bought from its original owner came with a Voodoo5 card. I've already done the Paypal for MorphOS 2.0 and have it installed (just awaiting my permanent reg key). I want to upgrade my video card though and I have a couple of questions.

Can I use any Radeon 9250 256MB card with this combo of MOS 2.0 and Peg2? Does AGP or PCI make a difference for compatibility?

Are there any AGP cards of this series that do not work (not sure the speed of the AGP slot on the Peg2)?

Some choices available to me for easy access to such a card that I see are here (first link an AGP, second link a PCI):

    and

Also on firmware for the mainboard it seems I'm on 1.1. Is that ok or do I need to upgrade this at all? If so, how?

And once I get the card and install it is there anything special I need to do in the OS to properly adjust for the new card?

Thanks in advance for any help that can be given!

    HI
You should obtain the 1.2 OF update, its more stable and has more features (aka bugs) lol

Most all Radeon 9250s should work fine both agp and pci - but go with agp if you can.

Good luck with the 3d though, it doesnt seem to be working on my radeon 9200 se though its supported..

I got massiv problems with system-freezes every time i boot MOS 2.0.
(With 1.4.5 i had no problems at all...)
I posted the debug-output from my peg2 in the morphos support-ML and
got the answer that the problem may occur because of my PCI Radeon (9250 SE).
I will try with a AGP Radeon today in the evening and post the result...

Use a Radeon8500 or 9100 for better results.

    @Crumb

What makes the 8500 or 9100 better?

I tried with my AGP Radeon 9200 yesterday-
and the freezes, graphic errors and "black screens" occur no more :-)

The Radeon8500/9100 GPU is much better than R9250 and this is more noticeable in high resolutions (you'll have faster redraws). In addition to that you can have bigger overlays.
