After a storm last night my peg doesn't switch on. The PSU was off, but unfortunately (dumbly?) I forgot to unplug the whole stuff.
I had a look inside and everything seems ok, which made me think of a burnt PSU (which kinda smells, indeed...), what's strange is that if I plug in the ethernet cable, I can see the lights on the rear of the board.
Maybe it's nothing, but maybe it's not...
Later on I'll try with another PSU.

    Should I worry?

    Please help...

Ethernet activity lights always come on.

When you say "doesn't come on" do you mean no fan, no lights, no nothing or do you mean you don't get to the OF screen ?

You could try booting with serial cable. It could give some hints what is wrong.
    1 + 1 = 3 with very large values of 1

mh... dunno... tried a third PSU and now everything's fine :-D maybe the second one was faulty as well.
What puzzles me is how on earth the first one could fail if it was switched off...

It's nice to see your machine works perfect now. But consider that, when your computer is off, this doesn't mean that it's not safe from thunderstorms. If you have a strong thunderstorm and you are afraid, it's better to unplug your computer from any socket. Then the electricity power cannot enter your computer.

Mine computer, also been hit 3 years ago from a thunderstorm, and it burned my USBs... ;-)
