Hi,

I tried a second 512 Mo DDR module in my Pegasos II, but firmware has refused to start with it. The new module was from the same vendor, but was lightly different (64 Mo chips on a single side instead of 32 Mo chips on both sides).

Since this attempt to extend my RAM, the firmware runs slowly. It prints text slowly and it is difficult to have a pressed key accepted during boot menu.

My firmware version is 1.2.
After the OS boot, running speed seems normal.

Does anybody already meet this problem ?
Is there a solution to restore the firmware standard starting/running parameters ?

This is a RAM module compatibility problem. You should find another module. You can also try to swap RAM slot, it works... sometimes .

I tried to use the other slot, but it is the same.
It takes 40s to countdown configured 8s delay before automatic boot.

Maybe this could help you then:

- remove the power cable from your Peg
- remove all RAM modules
- plug the power cable in an turn your Peg on
- wait 30 secs while your Peg is turned on
- turn your Peg off and remove the power cable
- reinstall the working RAM module
- plug the power cable in and turn your Peg on

I had exactly the same on my Efika. The count down was extremly slow.

The problem was the usb mouse. In my case the usb<->ps2 interface I used. After unplugging the interface the problem was gone.

So if you're using an USB mouse, try to unplug it.

But the keyboard was on a 2.0 USB extension card, I've moved it on an internal USB port and it is right now.
