PCI IDE card support.

    Hi,

Are there any PCI IDE cards that MorphOS supports? I would like a little extra capacity in my system to attach another drive or two, but I'm concerned that any controller I buy may not be compatible.

I'm not looking to be able to boot from SmartFirmware with said card, but I would really like the drives attached to it to be available to MorphOS!

On a similar note, has anyone had any luck with Serial ATA cards?

I'll take the silence to mean "no" then :-)

Maybe you could take a SCSI-Controller together with an Acard IDE-SCSI Adapter to use an extra UDMA-drive?

    That sounds crufty :-)

I wanted to avoid using SCSI-IDE adapters, because I intend to use an IDE-SATA adapter.

I can imagine the adapter chain growing to a silly length!

Another solution would be an external HDD connected via USB2.0 to your peggy. Probably not as fast as conntected directly to the motherboard or via a PCI IDE card, but I get about 10 MB/sec with my old 30 GB HD which I connected via an USB-to-IDE-Adapter.
