    Hi Guys,

at the beginning i sized a harddrive, which is quite full,
to use its full space in one partition, which is 160 GB.

There is a tool by Marek Szyprowski, which is
able to resize a partiton. Will i be able to resize my hd to a save size (eg. 120 gb), without loosing data?

Its not easy to backup 100 gb b4, so it would be great if this is possible.

Ofcouse nobody can be sure, if everything always works fine, but maybe its an bad idea anyway, as the partition is out of sfs limits from the begining.

Maybe somebody can help me with this

well.. first of all i recommend to make a backup (its better that way, before you lose data).

Anyway... I have no idea if the tool works or not, but I suggest to defragment (with Defrag) the partition first, so all data is at the beginning of the partition and not randomly all over to the end of it.

Second make a backup of the RDB. (Save at least the SCSIconfig.RDBStorage from SYS:Tools/ ), so you might be able to restore the partition size and try SFSSalv after.

And then try and pray. ;)

But you better make a backup. I don't know what the 100GB data are.. backup at least the important data... the 95GB pr0n you might lose in worst case are not so important as the other 5GB. ;)

    regards,

I'm not sure running defrag first is a great idea, surely this would risk triggering >128GB overflow problems..
