I'm having troubles playing sounds
When I'm playing sounds and moving windows or scrolling,
my cpu rises to 100% and the sound distorts or fully stops

I'm using a soundblaster audio card using the emu10kx driver
However the onboard ac'97 also distorts the sound

I'm using a radeon 7000 agp videocard

any ideas of how to solve this?
or what may be wrong

hi,
do you have installed the 3D drivers pack ?
are you sure of your PSU and your PSU plug ? it can be a problem with the " -12v ".
Dont 't use the 1st pci slot next to the AGP slot.

I had this problem with on board audio. But "fixed" it with installing a Soundblaster. Strange that you have problems with the soundblaster too.

How can I control that PSU thing?
I can ask my son, he knows much more of computers then I do.

It is not PSU related.

What apps you are scrolling when distortion happens? With Voyager it is prominent but shouldnt happen otherwise... (it can happen sometimes though).

It should also happen with CygnusED. It runs at pri 1 as standard, as
Piru informed me some time ago. If you change it to pri 0 it won't
cause any sound distortion.

The distortion is with every window and every program. The bigger the window the bigger the distortion.
Is it possible that there is a problem with the Radeon-card?

I have the same situation, I use Radeon 8500.

Is this a problem with every Graphic-card? I'm using my Pegasos not only for DTP (Pagestream) but also for recording sound and to play MP3's.

I have Radeon 9100 and Peg2.. no problems whatsoever with sound. Though on Peg1 I did have the descriped problem.

Maybe you have a secret Articia hidden as an easter egg ,-)
