    Hi to all.

    I have a little problem:
    I can't use, with MiamiDx, the 10/100 integrated ethernet.
    If I configure MiamiDx to use it and, I try to go online, the system works, but I can't navigate, read email, etc.
    If I add a pci ethernet based on realtek,change the driver, no problem, works perfectly!

    Any ideas :-?

    Thanks, Flip.

    Fi flip,

    Are you sure you plugged the cable into right plug ? :-)

    The ethernetplug above the firewire- plugs is the 10/100Mbit plug.
    Best wishes, Gunne

    I have a similar problem with MiamiDX in my peg1 (no chance of plugging confusion ;)), but my peg works fine using Miami... it may have some relation with the spaghetty flying monster :P...

    @Gunne.
    No problem to plug the correct port. ;-)
    I'm just thinking about the possiblities,for the 10/100 port, it is
    locked for some reason (openfirmware?).
    I read about a block of the ethernet port caused form linux, but I
    don't use any distro.

    @Amiades:
    Hi :-)
    You use Miami classic, instead of MiamiDX?
    Talking about monster... and the terrible Paella witch? ;-)

    10X to all :-)

    flip,

    Ok, good :-)

    Try this, it might help if you not alreday have tried it.

    Go to Hardware/Ethernet/SANA II Parameters

    Click Query device ones, and see if it reads in the hardware parameters. Save, and try to go online again.

    --------------------

    The problem with 'after linux session' is when using linux kernel above 2.6.9.

    Its needed to unplug the power cord to the power supply for c:a 10 sek before starting the MorphOS session after shutdown of Linux.

    Problem occurs not if using linux kernel below 2.6.9.

    Everything, on MiamiDX are ok.
    The strange is: pinging any address won't work... the only working is
    192.168.1.11

    @Gunne
    The query device works, but the integrated ethernet, seem won't work,
    didn't generate any traffic.

    Hi all,

    All i wanna say is, I'am connected to the internet with MiamiDX
    registered and the internal Ethernet controller. In the beginning, i
    plugged the Ethernet-cable in the wrong interface MorphOS 1.4.5 and
    Pegasos II G4 is used.

    flip,

    Ok, then I have no more ideas.

    You say that everything works fine when using rtl_8139pci.device but not when using via_rhinepci.device ?

    It should work exactly in the same way if you change the used device in Hardware/Ethernet/SANA II driver between these two, and do a query device for the one you want to use.

    There is nothing else thats need to be changed when changing device to use.

    I would like to suggest you to check that you really have the two files, and if, perhaps check so not files have become corrupt or something.

    Here is my output from this drawer:

    Mos:MorphOS/Devs/Networks> list
    rtl_8139pci.device 26404 ----rw-d 30-Mar-05 02:30:06
    via_rhinepci.device 25072 ----rwed 26-Apr-05 23:18:01
    2 files - 51476 bytes used
    Mos:MorphOS/Devs/Networks>

    Is it a Pegasos II you have ?
    Best wishes, Gunne

    What is it you're trying to connect to?

    I know that if I connect to my ISP using one ethernet card, and then
    swap the connection to another card, it doesn't work unless I wait
    some time in between. So if you're just disconnecting, changing the
    settings and then connecting again, the ISP might not let you in.

    flip,

    Here is another suggestion.

    I do not have a machine with a realtek networkcard installed running MorphOS right now, so it is just a wild guess, so please take it as such.

    It might be when you have two networkscard installed like as you seems to have, one have to be configured as Unit 0 and one as Unit 1 in Miami.

    Please try to change unit number from 0 to 1 for the via_rhine when changing from realtek to via_rhine, as you have configured the realtek one first I assume.

    Dont forget query device.

    Otherwise just remove the realtek-card and reconfigure from scratch.

    Or maybe Merkos assumption above is to consider also.

    Thanks to all :-)

    @Norbi

    The addres 192.168.1.11, is the client addres stored in the
    openfirmware (the 192.168.1.10 is the server ip stored in o.f.)

    @Merko

    I have here a router, plus an 16 port hub and other computer.
    I don't need to type in, everitime, the userid and the password.

    @Gunne

    It's seem look like, the ethernet port, need some kick to start to go!
    I try to use ezTCP 011 with the resoult of Peg2 go on line but no navigation, or else...
    I try to use Genesis stack, with the same resoult of ezTCP.
    Finally i try with Miami: something happend.
    I finally go on-line with the integrated ethernet :-o
    For the realtek and the via_Rhine i need to use unit number 0, no other works

    Little news!!! :-)

    Finally I discover why my internal ethernet didn't work...
    It' s the cable!!! :-o
    I try the cable with a cable-tester and, the result it's a
    failure cable!!!

    10X again to all forum for the support! :bloons:
