Today I bought Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 sound card for my Pegasos 2. I will install it, and I will tell you if everything is ok. ;-)

    what for ????

you'll use it under linux i suppose ? i doubt any morphos or linux driver will use capabilities of this card. It will sound the same as a simple SBLive.

You may be right about the drivers not taking full advantage, but the sound fidelity with the Audigy should be much cleaner/better.

Linux? NO, please no. What Linux? :-P

I'm only using Pegasos for MorphOS, but I didn't install it yet, and I agree with Magnetic that Audigy will play much better than the simple SBLive in any ways.

Honestly I find that the mos on board sound is rather decent. Much better than most pcs. Especially now with the new 3d prefs. the only reason I have the Sb live is for MOL to offload sound from the cpu.

Is digital-in supported on audigy cards ? This alone would be a good reason to get one of these for people doing sound recording.

Does anyone with such a card (or even a SBlive) noticed better sound quality than on the Pegasos digital out ?

I get your point guys about the better output quality of the Audigy series over the sblive but will your ear really notice it ? I'm an eletronic music producer and i doubt you'd be able to notice a change by reading mp3 or movies which is what MorphOS allows about sound. The Pegasos isn't really an appropriate tool for home studio/recording stuff. And the current drivers won't allow you to use any of the Audigy interesting features.
not worth the price of an audigy IMHO.
