    Well, Pegasos-II has 2 USB in the back one in the front and a secret in the PCI slot. This is three (I can't use the fourth). And they are all only USB 1.1 compilant. Well, this is year 2004, the age of USB things - so I bought a PCI USB card (2x1.1, OHCI compatible), because I needed more USB things connected to my Peg II (digital camera, palm, multi card reader, keyboard, pendrive...). But it's not working, even Poseidon does not see it. How can I get it working? Any ideas?

    Well first off I think only a select few chipsets are suported under Poseidon. If your card isnt one of them you may be out of luck. If you need more USB ports all you need to do is get a powered hub. I have a 6 port hub I tested out and it worked fine. Its much more simple then installing a card.

    Ok. And could anyone tell me what types of USB chipsets are supported by MOS? I was thought that OHCI is a standard and there is no difference between two OHCI PCI cards.

    (BTW EHCI is for USB2.0 and OHCI is for 1.1? Or is something like this?)

    maybe PoseidonV3 can OHCI/EHCI

    Hmm... does it work on Pegasos? I thought it is for Amithlon only... Thanks, I'll try it.

    I got the USB2.0 PCI card from CompCity and it's chipset is VIA... so try to find out this producer... It was recognised pretty well, and no additional settings were needed. Now I have two front ports (one USB 2.0) and six backside (4 are USB 2.0) 2.0 capabilities are usable only under Linux for now.

    Bye, MarK.

    @GK_LKA

    Use a PCI card based on VIA 6202 Chip. It will be recognized by
    poseidon in 1.1 mode and in 2.0 mode as soon as the EHCI driver will
    be released..

    Once instered simply add uhciusb.device unit 2 and 3 that's all.
    It is reported to have some little problems with VIA 6203, but I
    didn't test.

    Just a thing, better ask before buying hardware.. Hopefully, it's not
    very expensive in this case, but it could have been worse...

    Don't know anyone who uses succeddfully arak attack on pegasos

    Concerning USB standards :

    UHCI Universal Host Controller Interface : USB1.1 by via
    OHCI Open Host Controller Interface : USB1.1 by Intel, Microsoft, Nec
    EHCI Enhanced Host Controller Interface : USB2.0 for everyone.

    USB2 via chips are : UHCI+EHCI
    USB2 Nec chips are : OHCI+EHCI

    Well, I have tried, and as someone said, ArakAttack does not work on Pegasos, or at least it needs openpci.library 2.0, and I don't know, what is that, because on http://www.chez.com/titan/OpenPciUK.html (the offical OpenPCI page) is written, that the latest version is 1.2.

    @FALCON1:

    I've bought a VIA 6202 USB2.0 PCI card (it has 4 USB's), and as you said, it works very fine both under MOS and Linux. Thanks!

    so, this works on your peg2, has anyone used this on a peg1?
    and did you just plug it in and it was seen by the system immediately? did you have to fiddle with settings????

    is it really "Plug and Play" in the original amiga fashion? :-D
