    Hi all

I remember a software called Motion Studio from back in the day, IIRC
it was what came with the Vlab Motion card-it could edit jpegs or
whatever it was the Vlab threw at it, for a sort of Toaster-Flyer like
    functionality.

What I'm wondering is, if I can suck the movies into the computer
somehow, will this software be able to make titles etc. and edit it
all together like iMovie? Will it run on the Pegasos or does it
require the presence of Zorro slot hardware?

    Hi.

The software you are thinking of is Movie Shop.
It was bundled with MacroSystems VLAB Motion and
    the Draco Machine.

The software depends on the M-JPEG decoder chip on
the VLAB card and returns the error message
"VLAB card not found" if you try to start it on the
    Pegasos.

Motion Studio is an application currently being
developed by Titan Software, and has no scheduled
    release date.
Rumours has it that they are waiting for a FireWire
stack for MorphOS before they release it....

So, as of now there are no DV editing packages
    available on MorphOS.
You can always install Linux though.... ;-)
    Pegasos of course..
    ..the computer I always wanted.

If they want to release stuff like that why dont they make the stack?! Silly to write software for firewire and not write the stack. The could make a ton off something like that.

I honestly think that there is more to the story
    than just the missing FireWire-stack.
As I understand it they are developing this
app for more than just the PegaMorph platform which makes me believe that our beloved computer
is waaaaaay down on the list of platforms to
    release on....

It could also be that they are busy finishing
    Papyrus office...

On the other hand, why don't we just port
some Open Source DV app to MorphOS?!
There are lotsa programmers here that knows how to port stuff.... right?? ;-)
    Pegasos of course..

Yep! Pre-orderers of Papyrus Office for MOS just got an email saying Titan is going to ship this week. If all goes well, maybe they will get around finishing Motion Studio too.

I think MOS needs reliable and user-friendly TV card play/capture software more than an advanced video producer right now though...

Doesn't AmithlonTV and/or VHI-studio work on the PegII?!
I was under the impression that they do work....

However, I think that Motion Studio on the Pegasos
is an important step in making the platform more
    end-user-friendly...

This and MorphZilla... Papyrus is already on the way... ;-)
