I am not sure..did or did not the coming july run have G4's at higher speeds then 1 Ghz or were there no plans for speed increases at all?
What's that red light over there?

Yeah, nice avatar. I last saw it on the cover of the CD "Usual Tragedy" of the band "Karelia".

I am very pleased everyone likes my Avatar, truly.

I have had many positive comments on it and still...maybe I should get another? People tend to focus on that instead of my poor innocent question...

    Jaapjan,

I have not read anything that said that higher clock speeds were
coming in the July production run.

I don't think the 7447A will be available until the fall.

Darn. That is too bad. I might have to get a faster powerbook instead.

Has anyone tried morphos on Apple Hardware?

AFAIK, the new 7447A will be cooler (but also more expensive(?), especially at higher speeds?) and based on what has been said earlier (about cool/fanless computing) as well as those reasons (heat, (extreme?) costs), my guess is that the focus will be to build a silent, fan-less CPU card at a price that customer's are prepared to pay. I would be surprised if the new G4 CPU card will come in speeds faster than 1GHz, but perhaps they could *also* make a small, limited production run, with fan, based on the fastest G4's available, to both test the market for it and also to claim the crown of being the fastest non-Apple PPC machine available? ;-)

What would *you* be prepared to pay for a top speed G4 card (the card+CPU/cooling alone, excluding motherboard)?

I myself would be prepared to pay around 500 EUR for a 1.4-1.5 GHz G4 card (and I would expect that to have some kind of fan as well). That is *my* limit, and the question is if this price would be possible to achieve?
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :-)
MorphOS NG will be AROS done right! :-)

Too much for me. Would pay 300 EUR for a 1.4-1.5 G4.

IIRC the 7447A 1.2 Ghz will have similar costs like the 7447 NB 1Ghz. Around 200 US$/per pice.

If the new Peg production run will have these, who knows. I would go for the 1.2 Ghz type: Relatively cheap, very cool and reasonable fast.
