Has anyone gotten a DVD-RW to work in either MorphOS or Linux on the Peg 2? I ordered one recently for my beast of a peecee but was holding off installing a 3rd cd type drive in it in favor of putting it in the Peg 2 if it's workable there.

    Thanks again!

Please check out the Yahoo's fryingpan_amiga mailinglist, there are some Pegasos owners joined, who has DVD+/-R(W) drives... But AFAIK, under MOS You can burn currently only + medias with FryingPan. Or check out the www.tbs-software.com/fp.

    Bye, MarK.

I think someone mentioned on IRC quite a while ago having succesfully burned a DVD on MorphOS running amiga version of dvdrtools?

Also, I've created a few VCD's on MorphOS, dunno about SVCD, but if you have ready images, you sure can write them...

    Guys:

Also keep in mind that there is very nice Native MorphOS software to burn DVD - Burnit Pro V3 - this will be soon released as a commercial product and is very nice.

    AFAIK very soon.

Developing commercial software of this nature takes time. Its not Microsoft with millions of $$ for R+D and development. The guys doing it are highly talented and working as fast as possible. The latest beta is quite nice and works great. It looks almost ready. The best thing we can all do is buy it when it comes out to encourage furthur developers to make MOS commercial software.

I tried installing xcdroast with dvd support on gentoo, but I don't get writing support. After reading this:

    ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/ProDVD/README

I tried using the free key provided, but it seems it doesn't work for powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu architecture. I wrote to Joerg Schilling <schilling@fokus.fraunhofer.de>, but he just answered:

    ""
    read
    ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/ProDVD/README

    ""

    :-(

    Any idea?

    Hi Hawk,

did you tell Mr. Schilling when you asked for the free key the name of your Platform and a good reason for wanting a key?
