    Well I guess the only way to find out wether it was the psu's fault or not, is to put it on an old motherboard (say a pentium 1 motherboard) and see what happens. Of course it shouldn't be anything more expensive than 20-30 euros off-Ebay, so that if something else gets burned it won't be a terrible loss of money.

    Hi there again..

    Just called my Amiga dealer, i explained the
    situation, he told me it has happened before
    with other users.

    I only have to bring the cpu card and he will send
    it away for repairs. can take several weeks.

    I told him i was thinking my psu could be broke,
    he didn't had a anwser to that, so i decided to
    buy a new one when i receive my cpu card back
    again, just to be safe.

    For now it's waiting..

    Probably it would be wise to integrate fuses to the PSU outputs. Or meters to check the voltage during operation. Something like that...

    /me shuddering when thinking of the fact that my poor Peggy runs on a noname cheapo PSU

    Hi Felix !

    I had just news about mine, it has been repaired and posted... so know I just have to wait... ;)
    I hope you will have soon to !

    About the PSU I am not sure it is that (I had a pegasos 1 for months before and no problem) but I will change mine to be safe...

    Perhaps the G4 pegasos II cpu card is just more "brittle" ?

    @greenboy & others

    Does a UPS include a line conditioner automatically (or vice-versa) or it really depends on the quality/model you purchase?

    Would you have any suggestions of such products with good quality/price value?

    I just moved in an older area of Montreal and, even though the electricity lines are really efficient here, I would prefer to get better protection against possible high electical fluctuations.

    Thanks :)

    Hoi ChatDEau,

    Any model I've ever looked at has surge/spike suppression, and performs line conditioning (if I recall correctly) by virtue of buffering the incoming current via the battery if not actually incorporating a auto-tap transformer.

    I usually end up with what's at Costco - which is usually Tripplite, which actually is pretty good stuff and competitively priced with the other mainstays in power. But I don't know what your market would be like there, what the affordable options might be or the vendors you'd prefer.

    Yeah, paying for protection is better than paying for repairs and replacement : }
