Something similar to bPlan in Cologne 2001 when they had the 2 ZIF proto board running MorphOS 0.8 and an early sample of the production Pegasos1 with a ZIF_2_SlotA carrier card behind glass.
Well minus having the running proto that is ;)
Might be that a simple cycle of writing the firmware and power on yields a fully working system, might be that they'll end up announcing a new pope.
But... going on by what I know/suspect:
- a 2081 Mirari would be 2-300€ over the 1042 one
- 2081 and 2080 are the same silicon with the 2080 offering more IO at the cost of requiring more layers on the PCB to make use of that IO
- the PPC Laptop guys have so far done everything for money or paid someone with the actual skills to do a job (with mixed results so far)
- ACube isn't known to be a charity
- whatever the final deal is with that new kernel, someone will want to put his fingers into HW sales no matter what
So my guess is at least 1k€ + VAT, might even get close to X5000 prices.
