For those AmigaOne X5K owners, what sound card are you using?

Model, Model # and any info you can offer.

Need to make sure it works 100% for AmigaOS 4 as well as MorphOS.

    Thanks

    I use a soundblaster live ! (Emu10k1) pci card.

vendor id 1102. device id 0002

    Edit:

I had to remove my pci sata controller. I have a dual graphics card setup.
Otherwise I had no sound in os4.

I'm also currently using an EMU10k1 based PCI SBLive card but I believe my cheap Chinese CMsomething card was also working for both OS's.

I switched to the SBLive because I was having distorted sound issues with certain games, and still do (in MorphOS) but I've just accepted that it happens. It appears to be related to my use of a second GPU for morphos in my 4x slot and looks like it's something to do with interrupts. I'm on X5040. Anecdotal evidence suggests it's specific t the 5040 as skateman has a 5020 and doesn't see these issues. I tried a couple of M-Audio cards, the SBLive and more (I forget now) and the distortion was there with any sound card in any PCI slot so I just gave up in the end and accept there's the odd unplayable game for me.

Apologies, I'll have to dig out the specifics of the cards tomorrow.

Thanks to those that responded. Hate to take out a sound card that works fine for Amiga OS and possibly screw that up to just hope a new one will work for both, but may explore that. I would like to use MorphOS more but no sound, or good sound I should say, is a deal breaker for me right now as I don't want to screw up my Amiga OS side. TJ

TJ, Sounds like no reason not to switch cards and get better results.

The 20 version of the X5000 seem pretty well sorted at this point. AFAICT only the 040 versions are screwy with changes to usb and such...

3.20 will eventually come out, get the system ready :)

Cool look audio card but wow, pricey. Seem to be $125 and more plus shipping.

Thanks for letting me know about it though.

Yeh, and all purchasing of any retro tech has come to an end for me for now as last year or two has been brutal for bills so it all ends for a bit. I am just going to enjoy what I own for a bit as-is.

What are the odds either of these audio cards will work well with at least MorphOS?

When I purchased my X5K in 2016 I had to get 3 audio cards to allow my AmigaOS 4.1 beta to work. These two I yanked and held onto.

You will notice 1 is a Creative Labs but is a EMU10K1X-DBQ and at the time this one failed with Amiga OS. No idea if it will work now almost 10 years later. Maybe some update helped?

But do you think a EMU10K1X-DBQ will work for MorphOS?

If not that one I also own a Diamond branded XS51 Sound Card as well. This one was flacky with AmigaOS if memory calls and why I had to go down the new audio card path 10 years back.

I would ask someone like Skateman to give you an exact model number, that should be enough.

Mozzerfan, or any using the Soundblaster EMU10K1 Audio Cards, upper right of the card it appears many I see have a model # like this one I see on eBay. Model CT4830

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/267447259354

    What is your model #s?

I had long ago purchased one that was EMU10K1 but you will see on the chip they often have other letters after the K1 like K1-xxx or whatever. Mine failed to work. May have been a Dell one as I see some say was pulled from a Dell.

Just don't want to spend $25 or $50 on another rabbit-hole is all so knowing the model may be helpful.

    Thanks tons!

    Thanks, that helps.

Now to confirm the SB Live I purchased long ago that did not work back in 2017 on my X5K in Amiga OS is not the same model and if not, I will buy a used SB0100 in hopes it works fine on my X5K running Amiga OS 4.1u3 as well as MorphOS 3.19.

I just need to find it packed away someplace LONG ago. hah

    Thanks

Happy to report my original audio card is now working with an updated driver so won't have to (for now) switch to a different audio card but nice to know of options should I or someone else with an X5K can use down the road.
