I had this now for the second time within three days: when turning the Mini on for the first time in the day it boots normally into MorphOS, but after a few seconds it switches off without a warning. When I switch it on a second time it seems to run stable for the rest of the day. BTW, the Mini is connected to switchable sockets, which were turned off over night.

Hardware issue? What can I do? Opening and cleaning? :P

I haven't heard that kind of behaviour before, and never experienced such on my three minis. Probably not a software issue at least... I also have my computers on switchable sockets...

If it's not about dust, maybe PSU or maybe if it's possible to reset PRAM/PMU or something in minis too :) Just guessing...

Maybe internal battery is low - replace.

Otherwise: Boot into OpenFirmware-Console and wait. If it does'nt shut down, it could be also an installation-issue of MorphOS.
Or do you have a MacOS for testing?

You need ASD 2.6.3
Burn a CD and boot from it. After a while you will be able to do some HW-tests (follow instructions).

Last but not least as mentioned above: PSU is dieing (Capacitors!!)

Indeed, the battery is bad. I already noticed the bad date. Have to read it with NTP.
Ok... it's basically what I feared: replacing the battery and/or cleaning requires to open the case.

Haven't seen the shutdown today. Will watch it for some more days... ;)
