Hey, when I replace my Apple Mac G5 ATI Radeon X1900GT video card with a PC Radeon HD 4770 I get either a "resolution not supported" or a "signal over range!" message depending on what monitor I use.

Any idea what could be happening? I'm used to OS' identifying the monitor's specs and setting the resolution to suit.

So far I haven't had a lot of luck with PC display cards in my Mac. I've tried a FirePro 3D V3800, v4800, and a V4900. This last card doesn't appear to be supported, but the first two create a display, however the color is a blocky bright green and the text is mostly unreadable.

So, is there a way for me to force MorphOS to start at a lower resolution or frequency?

I'd ask Mark, but he's a busy guy and I don't want to bother him.

In case there's some misidentifying, this may help:

Pressing and holding CTRL during boot will force MorphOS to 1024×768 (60Hz) resolution.
