    Like the subject says ...

I've got an Epson Stylus Photo 1270 on my parallel port, but I haven't seen it do anything yet. Anybody got something useful out of a parallel connected printer on a G4 Peg 2?

I tried also in all possible ways.
    I have a Canon BJC4300 (Paralell) and a Canon S100 (USB).
Both printer doesn't work at all (Under fxpaint I received only
    "printing failed")
For the Usb printer I use as device the usbparallel.device (unit 0 as
claimed by the Usb stack) but nothing :(
Are they bugs of Mos1.4 ?
Sure it's not a turboprint prob, coz under my 1200PPC they both work
    well.
    Thx for the help.

Same problem here. I allready had the printer device set to usbparallel.device unit 0, (that was before the suggestion came two postings back).

I think I will have to make do by printing to a file and taking it over the network to my Amiga and copying it to the printer from there. When I get that done, I'll also the my PCMCIA card reader back on the old Amiga, because I still do not have a single USB device completely running (the MOS Poseidon 2.2 update did get closer though).

No printing (parallel or USB), no proper USB support yet for any of my devices, I'll keep my head down until I get something working and then I'll be back ...

Ahh. I understand, and I've seen that before. I apologize for thinking the wrong thing. Gomen.

    Hi wlamee and Paochi,

Sorry to hear about the problems.

I use a coated hi-speed USB cable (atleast it says so on the cable :-)).

The first few times I tried printing via USB port, it didn't work (see my other posts).
    Suddenly it worked.
The only thing I did was filling in "usbparallel.device" and then playing with the port settings (setting it to 1, 2 and after that again to 0).
Ofcourse saving the settings and restarting was part of these "procedures" (only to be sure).

One remark: printing doesn't work with every program! I knew printing with FinalWriter and WordWorth worked because of trying with my Peg 1.

    Bye,

    Hi Targhan,

Perhaps you can do something like Gunne did?
See his post in this thread on page 1 :-)

    @spidey

it sounds like it may work, but the EpsonC40 isn't on the list that comes with mos1.4.

Well, I tried the C80 without luck. I'll try the C60 next. (The C80 driver just made it spew pages out)

    Woot! Got it to working.

    1. I set up the printer prefs to use ".inkjet epson"
    2. Posiedon prefs: made sure that "use epson init sequence" was set to true.

Now, to set up a morphos powered peg to be a print-server!
