I had my G5 powered off while I was moving..finally settled in, powered it on..all is well, except I cannot access my NAS. I cannot even ping my NAS at the IP its at. From my Linux machine I can, from a browser on a different computer I can, but for some reason, my G5 doesnt even see it.

I looked at ifconfig and the ip is in the correct subnet, netmask is fine also. I can ping other machines on the network, just not my NAS, yet I used to be able to do all of this. My router was reset back to factory so there's nothing special there either.

Any hints as to what I can check?

    Figured it out..

I had MorphOS set to get an IP via DHCP. I set it all statically and it worked. I guess something in MorphOS isnt saving maybe the default route or something?

    Anyway..works :-)

I guess your NAS got a different ip from your Router on PowerUp.

Also do not use the IP, but the name of the NAS as host.

    e.g.

    ... service=//myHomeNAS/Music ...

Every NAS provides a name setting option. This avoids any IP trouble e.g. when you take your NAS into a different environment the same service string will work without any change, even if the ip is completly different.

No..the NAS IP is static and saved at the router. Problem was at MorphOS.
