    I want to use a powerbook for using it with aminetradio as a internetradio on my work.
    There is a free wifisignal but it's not strong enough,sometimes it works ok but often the radio stalls cause off the weak signal.
    Is there a device which I can with a better antenna?
    All I can find are devices with a usb connection,I need a standalone device with lan ports I guess.
    Any tips?
    Powerbook 5,4 1.5GHz 1.5GB ram

    You can use any router that can be configured as a client or client bridge, I used a TP-Link TL-WR703N with dd-wrt firmware on it, its cheap and very small, powered by a usb cable and connects with a 100mbit ethernet plug.

    It's very tiny thing, also capable 3G/4G connection via USB modem. Device now retranslate public hotspot from street to our office :)

    So any router set up as client will do.
    Guessing I'll have most luck with one which has a better antenna?
    Or should I look for one on which I can connect an external antenna?
    This TP link model seems like a nice device but it has no external antenna.
    No need for an expensive thing may be an old used one...

    Read jPVs suggestion. I too have good experience with an Atheros5000 Cardbus device. With the inbuild airport adapter WLAN was pretty weak, but with the Atheros card (in my case a card by Netgear) WLAN works rather well.

    Load a playlist with URL of radiostation to ANR.....

    Example (copy it to a text-file and load it to ANR):

    [playlist]
    numberofentries=4
    File1=http://205.164.41.18:7040
    Title1=(#1 - 16/500) 1.FM - BLUES RADIO
    Length1=-1
    File2=http://205.164.62.21:7040
    Title2=(#2 - 65/1000) 1.FM - BLUES RADIO
    Length2=-1
    File3=http://205.164.62.13:7040
    Title3=(#3 - 73/1000) 1.FM - BLUES RADIO
    Length3=-1
    File4=http://72.13.83.84:7040
    Title4=(#4 - 4/12) 1.FM - BLUES RADIO
    Length4=-1
    Version=2
