    Hello,
I'm planning to buy some Memory for my upcoming Peg2 at the moment and want to know if it makes any sense to buy "faster" RAM then 266Mhz Chips?

I've seen that some of you use 400Mhz hyper-lightspeed-extreme ;) - Memory but why?

Up to know I thought it would be better to buy 266Mhz Memory with CL2 than 400Mhz with CL2.5 or CL3. (at least for the Peg2) Am I right?

    Thanks in advance
    Andreas

    Hi,

Memory modules faster (333, 400,...) than 266 MHz can run at this speed (compatibility).
The mostly advantage is 400 MHz or 333 MHz modules are really no more expensive that the same 266 MHz. Then, later you will be able to upgrade (by a new motherboard) without change memory modules too.

Anyway, I don't know if the differents CL speed of modules modify the Peg II performances and if it can be change (CL parameters).

I've just bougth DDR-333 in a first PC shop around (they had no DDR-266). It is 256 MB Seitec CL 2.5 module and is running fine.
