    If nobody have noticed, the Playstation 4 Controller works 100% using Mac Mini 1,5GHz and Morph OS 3.4.
    I have tested Frogatto and Hurrican. Frogatto use 3 button configuration and Hurrican use 6 buttons and all of it worked well :)

    It was very easy to install just plug the controller using usb cable and thats it!

    Strange thing was that PS3 controller did not work at all. PS4 controller is showing in Wireless Controller when checking the usb devices.

    I Think that controller works fine in other devices as well.

    @Jar

    This is nice to know! I have wanted a new controller for forever and I like the PS hand controller design. I will try this :-)

    Hmm, right out of the box? Just works? Interesting...

    PS3 controller is otherwise standard USB input device, but requires some special "startup command" to actually start sending events. Nothing too complex really, linux people reverse engineered this years ago :-)

    I need to buy a controller now.

    I've always liked the PS controllers over the XBox ones. But people can get used to most things so ...

    So my question is, what would you recommend me to buy? A PS4 controller or an XBox 360 controller? Which do you prefer for MorphOS?

    Go!

    Firstly, only X360 controllers are currently supported by "The New Input API", but this will hopefully be extended to further hardware in the future.

    Of course this is also a bad thing, as I don't think there's currently backwards compatibility lowlevel wrapper for it, so:
    -New software that requires sensors.library supported device (and doesn't support lowlevel.library) only work with X360 controller and

    -Old software that only supports lowlevel.library won't work with X360 controller

    Of course this situation will likely improve in the future. For now, I'd use "cheapest as possible but usable" USB pad. Or why not more expensive, as long as it's standard. Will likely work in the future with everything.

    (And if I'm wrong with compatibility issues, please correct)

    The Xbox 360 controller will have better support than a generic hid device (PS4 controller included), but we do want to migrate these generic controllers into sensors.library API starting with 3.6. That also implies lowlevel will be updated to handle all controllers using the new api.

    @Jupp3 & jacadcaps

    Thanks! I will buy an 360 controller then. Good thing they are much cheaper as well :-)

    Just curious, "better how"?

    I mean, I don't think there's much to joysticks that hid specification couldn't handle... Rumble perhaps? (Not sure how that works with HID)

    -EDIT-
    Forgot to say that Xbox 360 controller is way inferior technology. Gaming just will NOT be the same without a Share-button!1!
    (Just kidding, of course)

    HID isn't that bad as a spec, but its implementation in most devices is... rubbish. You will most likely need to adjust POSeidon settings in order to get the full experience.

    For example: a pad I bought for testing reports x, y and 2x z axis... which are in fact x and y...

    An xbox pad has a structure set in stone so no config adjustments are required. Also, it does have rumble support and I am not sure I will be able to provide this for hid (no devices for testing).
