As far as iBooks go this one is now not that bad. I got a new keyboard thats working great for it. I am just a bit worried about the low video RAM it has is all. So far I havent noticed it much, but I have done a lot with it as well.

I'd like to hear some opinions from anyone that has an iBook registered as well as having a Desktop registered in addition to it. How is 3D performance on it? Do you have anything you dislike and regret getting an iBook over a Powerbook things like that.

My Specs are as follows on mine. Please list yours as well.

iBook 1.42Ghz 14" (last model built)
1.5 GB System RAM, 32MB Video RAM
    Stock 60GB Hard Drive
Bluetooth and Airport Extreme (Cant Use in MOS)
    G3 14" Replaced keyboard
    Powermac Dual 2.0 GHZ G5 PCI-X (Registration #1894)
    Powerbook 1.67GHZ
Powermac Dual 2.0 GHZ G5 PCIE (Registration #6130)
    A4000T CSPPC, Mediator

I have an Ibook 12" 1,33 GHz with 1.5 GIG RAM and 32 MB VRAM. I have not used it much and I have not been able to get games like Quake to work on it yet (but I havn't really tried either) but it works well and is a good piece of portable MOS system IMO. I used to own an Powerbook 15" too, but it was too big for my taste and I didn't like the keyboard at all.

That is probably the only big difference I've felt: the keyboard is IMO better on Ibook. The rest I don't feel any real difference except that the Ibook is slower (for obvious reason since my PB was a 1,5 GHz model).

I have a 14" 1.42 GHz iBook which uses a different gpu than slower iBooks (the Radeon 9550), but has the same 32MB vram limitation.
I don't play many video games, but I have not seen any other problems with this system.
The vram seem adequate for the native resolution of the system.
I was worried about the solidity of the keyboard (which seems somewhat flimsy), but it has held up well so far.

And except for the price of the key, this is really a economical system.

I've got the same system Jim. Does 3D work on this model of the ibook?

It has an R300 gpu, so I would assume so.

3D works on all MorphOS-supported iBooks. Older models with R200 GPU are supported by both TinyGL and Goa3D/Rave3D, whereas newer models with R300 GPU (like yours) are supported only by TinyGL.

Basically, the backspace key in the upper right of the IBook keyboard works both as Backspace and Delete key. If you want to use it as "Delete" you have to press it together with the "fn" key found in the lower left. If the key does nothing at all, it is most likely broken ...
